Reaction to "Shooting An Elephant"


The story I will be reacting on is George Orwell's "Shooting an Elephant". My reaction to this story was mixed throughout. At first when he started to shhot the elephant i thought he was just doing his job. But when he continued to shoot I actually thought he was showing compassion and was just trying to put the elephant out of his misery. My feelings then changed when at the end he proved that the only reason he shot the elephant was to "avoid looking a fool".
